Ballet Shoes

Which type to get (canvas or leather)

Ballet shoes come in two major materials, canvas and leather. Leather will tend to last longer than canvas, however a heavier person can cause leather ones to stick rather than slide on the floor. A shoe that sticks will wear out much faster. Canvas shoes can be much cheaper as well, so even though they wear out faster they can still be more economical.

Ballet shoes purchasing

Here is a list of places where you can get them:

Split sole or full sole

Ballet shoes come in two major forms, split sole or full sole. Split or full tend to not make much difference. Full sole shoes tend to be cheaper, but usually this comes down to personal prefrence.

Ballet shoe that fits

Most people when purchasing these shoes tend to get ones that are to small. Make sure they are big enough for your toes to spead out. Try the shoes on and attempt to do some ballet steps to make sure they are comfortable under real use. Your feet will tend to change sizes during the day so attempt to be fitted for your shoes at the same time of day that you plan on dancing.
