Sneakers
The History
Sneakers were first made by Keds. They began as a product produced by US Rubber in 1917.
US Rubber called them keds because the desired name, “Peds,” was already trademarked by another
company. Most shoes of the time made noises when you walked in them. These did not, so they
picked up the nickname that everyone knows them by do to the fact you could be stealthy in them.
As time went on Converse also started to make tennis shoes and together Keds and Converse
captured the US Market.
